On May 30th, 2014 the United States House of Representatives voted to amend the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Bill for 2015. This amendment prohibits the DEA from spending funds to arrest state-licensed medical marijuana patients and providers. This amendment was overwhelmingly supported by Democrats 10 to 1. It passed with bi-partisan support. However, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz voted with a majority of House Republicans to continue prosecuting Medical Marijuana Patients in states that have legalized it. President Obama must demand her resignation. Such a position does not make her fit to lead the Democratic Party. We need more forward thinking leadership from Democratic Party leaders. Prosecuting sick people who are seeking improved health is not moral.
