Demand President General Aziz's Resignation
Greetings
I am writing today to ask that the U.S. government demand the resignation of Mauritanian President General Aziz, and that you announce that U.S. all aid to Mauritania will be suspended until General Aziz leaves office and a transition to democracy is begun.

People throughout the world have been inspired by the events of the past month, as Egyptians have taken to the streets to demand freedom. But it has often seemed as if the U.S. government fails to share our enthusiasm for freedom and democracy. Your government has refused to explicitly demand General Aziz's resignation, and has not cut off the faucet of U.S. aid to the General Aziz regime. Meanwhile, peaceful protesters continue to be killed in the streets of Mauritania.
