We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

Demand the return of $180 million in aid recently sent to the Philippines.

Created by M.M. on October 20, 2016

Immediately after accepting the latest delivery of $180 million in aid to his country, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte announced the severing of ties with the United States, and the development of a new alliance with China. Duterte also suggested that he will pursue alliances with Russia, as well. Duterte has repeatedly insulted the United States and our President over our criticism of his blood-soaked regime, and the elimination of legal due process in his country. The U.S. should not be propping up bloody dictatorships, even when they are popularly elected. We certainly should not be supporting nations that take our money, then insult us and seek alliances with our rivals. We request that the U.S. government demand the return of $180 million in recent aid to the Philippines.
