Taggant are markers that can be added to explosive so that the manufacturer and batch number can be found after a detonation to determine if it is used illegally.
The taggant must survive the explosion.
The most common are microscopic polymer particles.
The Swiss passed a law in 1980 requiring taggants in explosives which are made in Switzerland.
The USA should investigate and implement this technology to protect it's people and help in investigations when a device is found or detonated.
