Demand that teachers' starting salaries in the State of Florida be raised.

Created by A.S. on January 12, 2015

On Janurary 1, 2015, minimum wage was raised. However, teachers in the state of Florida have not seen a raise in the past 8 years. Apparently, starting next year, teachers will be paid based off of performance. Currently, the average pay for a starting teacher in the state of Florida is 38,000. That means that some teachers who have been working for the past 8 years are still making 38,000. That comes to about $2,000 a month after taxes. Flight attendants and garbage men make more than teachers. That's why they are leaving the profession. Help us keep great teachers at our schools by providing your support.
