I think it is incredibly wrong for any car manufacture to build cars that consume oil! When you buy a new car, you shouldn't have to worry about checking your oil, This is why your buying a new car. Toyota USA has been manufacturing cars and trucks since 2000 that when driven many miles a day or week, they will start to consume vast amounts of oil. My 2009 Scion XB, bought brand new was using 3 quarts a week at 23K miles on it! My oil light never came on, and when I complained to the dealer, They told me to check my owners manual, and it says:
"This car Can Consume One Liter of Oil per 600 miles".
This is totally unacceptable! Toyota of USA wouldn't fix or replace the engine, and the dealer threatened to tow my car off the lot if I didn't pick it up. I took a $23K Loss in 2010 on that car.
