The United States is Uganda’s largest bilateral donor, giving them approximately $500 million per year. Uganda is eligible for preferential trade benefits under the African Growth and Opportunity Act. Yet its leaders persist in pursuing an aggressive anti-LGBTI agenda, including the death penalty for gay people, and stiff fines for anyone who doesn't report a gay person to authorities within 24 hours.
