Reports indicate that United Nations officials turned rockets illegally hid in a UN school in Gaza over to "Gaza authorities." Those "Gaza authorities" would mean Hamas, a group designated a terrorist organization by this government and many others. These are the same weapons that Hamas has fired against Israeli civilians.
How does turning such weapons over to a terrorist organization promote peace?
The turnover of these weapons should be thoroughly investigated and those responsible should be held to account so this does not happen again. The United States should use its position as a permanent member of the Security Council to help achieve this objective.
