Currently under the law, the United States government, possibly the largest buyer in the world, is not allowed to negotiate drug prices with "Big Pharm" when it comes to pricing for medicare. An example we can show would be Gilead Sciences Inc who currently makes a drug that fights Hepatitis C, the drug is produced for $1.00 per pill and is sold for $1,000.00 per pill to our government. To make matters worse, they take billions in profits from sales in America and because they're located in Ireland, they skirt the tax system here in America, paying nothing. This is criminal and it should stop immediately.
