Every other industrialized country in the world provides PAID family leave to new parents.This ensures their nations' infants do not fall into poverty and are given the best possible start in life.
Women are being forced to return to work before they have healed from childbirth, long before their babies are ready. Due to the lack of paid family leave, new families are having to choose between paying the bills or ensuring their newborns are being properly cared for.
The U.S. Government has been relying on business owners to take on this responsibility. Many businesses fail to adhere to the few laws that protect families (FMLA) or provide proper space & breaks for breastfeeding. The U.S. Government must step in and provide a YEAR of paid leave.
