The island nation of Vanuatu has undergone a major catastrophe in the wake of a powerful tropical cyclone. Electric, water and agricultural infrastructure have all been majorly devastated. Vanuatu's natural abundance has also suffered a nearly fatal blow. The cyclone has turned once green islands brown and barren, strong winds having ripped out the lush trees and gardens that were relied on by so many citizens of Vanuatu for sustenance.
This spells out is a major disaster for this small, and peaceful nation. Small charitable organizations, while appreciated, cannot begin to take on the immense task of sustaining the lives of Vanuatu's people during their time of reconstruction.
We demand that the Obama Administration deliver immediate cash and food aid, to sustain Vanuatu's lifeline.
