The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services routinely kills predators and an astounding assortment of other animals – 3.2 million of them in 2015 – simply because ranchers and farmers regard them as pests. And it does this without any scientific proof that the practice actually benefits anybody.
During its most recent fiscal year, Wildlife Services killed animals from 335 species. These included cormorants, red-winged blackbirds, mourning doves, common grackles, sandhill cranes, teal ducks, prairie dogs, bobcats, beavers, and coyotes. The tools of the cull include poison, firearms , decoy traps, aircraft using firearms, neck snares, body grip traps, and cyanide capsules.
These inhumane practices must stop. We respectfully seek your help to ban this senseless slaughter.
