Demand White House Investigate Murder of American Reporter Serena Shim covering Syrian war

Created by W.N. on August 08, 2016

American journalist Serena Shim was reported killed in a car accident in Turkey near the border with Syria in October 2014. Shim had documented Turkey’s role in the Syrian insurgency since 2011, near the beginning of the Syrian proxy war. She returned to Syria to report on the battle of Kobani which was receiving international media attention as the US announced a bombing campaign against Islamic State.

Two days before her death, She reported during a live interview that the Turkish intelligence service accused her of being a spy and wanted to arrest her for questioning. She also reported that she had evidence of Islamic State using vehicles from non-governmental organization World Food Program to travel from Turkey to Syria without being targeted.

The US government never helped her.
