There has been a trend in the United States to militarize our law enforcement agencies. Despite a downward trend in crime rates in the U.S., our police force has become larger, more evasive and more heavily armed. Police brutality has become common-place without any recourse for the average citizen.
President Obama. We ask you to dissolve the 1033 Program that arms the domestic police force with military surplus. We ask that you set in motion a plan to return domestic law enforcement to a role of civil servant.
