Democratic Legislative Reform Proposal

Created by M.S. on March 21, 2013

With internet technology, it is no longer necessary to elect Congressional representatives for legislative procedures. We, the People of the United States, should introduce legislation and vote on legislation directly. A simple majority should be required to pass a proposed legislation. The biggest problem in this proposed legislative system would be security and fraud prevention in the internet based voting tallies, but this problem can be managed. In order to prevent true democracy from becoming a tyranny of the majority, each proposed legislation, which receives a majority vote, should be reviewed by independent judges to make certain that the proposed legislation is constitutional. This important reform would require an amendment to the existing US Constitution.
