Demonstrate correct grammar, each month discussing a common error, and providing examples of proper grammar usage.

Created by W.N. on December 29, 2012

Whereas proper grammar use has diminished in recent years; and,

Whereas many commercial enterprises advertise support of education while seeking to increase back-to-school sales, though many of these organizations employ clearly incorrect grammar in their stores, e.g., signage announcing cashiers serving customers with "ten items or less" when "10 items or fewer" is the correct wording;

Whereas President Obama has an uncanny ability to speak to today's youth, who generally use poorer grammar today than they have in the past;

Let it be resolved that each month, President Obama should take time during a public address to recognize a common grammar mistake, provide instruction regarding correct usage, and reward commercial entities which employ correct usage by recognizing them publicly.
