After the irregular at best and clearly illegitimate elections of April 14 in Venezuela, in which fraud abounded, with more of 3,000 documented irregularities dennounced by the opposition, the government of Nicolas Maduro has escalated agression against opposition leaders. Today opposition representatives in the National Assembly were attacked and injured at the hands of representatives of the official party.
I call for our government to dennounce such acts of agression against opposition leaders and the erosion of democracy in Venezuela.
