On September 23rd, 2013, the Dominican Constitutional Court passed an unjust decree which retroactively denies Dominican nationality to a person born after 1929 who doesn't have at least one parent of Dominican blood, under a constitutional clause declaring all others to be either in the country illegally or "in transit.". It is urgent that the White House speak up to resolve this problem and prove its sense of leadership in the world. We recommend the administration to immediately enforce sanctions on Dominican Republic officials responsible for human rights violations. Mr. President, we urge you to do whatever is necessary to help the Haitian people overcome this dilemma.
