Cardinal Raymond Burke in an interview called gay relationships "profoundly disordered and harmful" and not to "expose our children to that relationship, to the direct experience of it. And neither should we do it in the context of a family member who not only suffers from same-sex attraction, but who has chosen to live out that attraction, to act upon it, committing acts which are always and everywhere wrong, evil."
He calls On Roman Catholics to shun their gay brothers and sisters, keep them away from their children, and not to include them in family gatherings.
I ask President Obama to denounce these dangerous homophobic statements in the memory of Matthew Shepard.
