The rent is very high in Denver for most who have lived here most of their lives or especially for those whose origins are from Denver. The Denver born natives are being chase out of a city of their birth by high rents. The rental hike doesn’t match our economy. More people are becoming homeless which include senior citizens living on a fixed single/combined income of SSI or/both retirement. You have people who have housing vouchers that can’t get into housing because a lot of rental properties are not excepting them. Corporations who manage rental property and private owners are all trying to get into the financial rent game. It’s going to be a first to see senior citizens out on the street even with their doable fixed income. Colorado citizens are not going to survive this crisis.
