Deny all tax exemptions and impose a fixed logarithmic (or linear) scale to all income of any kind with zero exceptions.

Please explain how the government and citizens benefit by allowing exemptions or variations in taxation. Wouldn't a simple percentage be easier to calculate and easier to enforce, allowing more money to be collected by the government (to benefit the people) each year? I would like to see a purely mathematical logarithmic (or even linear) scale, with zero exceptions for any organization or individual and automatic deduction from W2, 1099, investment yields and ALL other forms of monitored income. I feel this would cause a dramatic increase in the number of middle class Americans and benefit our nation as a whole by reducing the disparity between excessive wealth and excessive poverty, potentially reducing crime while generating more money for programs that benefit the common good.
