The risk to all the states through which it would pass is way too great. There are daily pipeline spills in Alberta that kill everything the tar sands touch and foul the water. Canada, itself, refuses to allow Keystone to build a pipeline through Canada to the Pacific. (They know how dangerous it would be). No one knows how to clean up tar sands spills. We've already seen the results in the US.
