Deny federal financial aid to any educational institution that seeks an exemption from the Affordable Care Act.

Created by A.R. on July 04, 2014

Recipients of federal aid cannot pick and choose which laws to comply with. Any institution which seeks to deny its employees health insurance coverage for any type of contraceptive care and for abortions should be ineligible for federal aid. The temporary stay issued by the Supreme Court on behalf of Wheaton College effectively allows any religiously affiliated organization to opt out of provisions of the Affordable Care Act simply by sending a letter to the government. The stay creates a dangerous precedent: If such an organization is allowed to opt out of one law it does not like, then the same "religious freedom" argument can be used to reject compliance with any law.

Our tax dollars should not be used to subsidize or assist any institution that restricts human and civil rights.
