KBR, a company contracted to rebuild Iraq’s oil infrastructure, is attempting to get the U.S. taxpayers to pay the bill of their failed legal suit against the U.S. military. This petition is to help prevent KBR from getting any payment for their negligence in exposing soldiers to dangerous toxins.
After the Iraqi invasion, 830 service members were assigned to guard a water treatment plant where sodium dichromate was present. KBR knew this was being stored at the plant and said it was a mild irritant when actually, it is a carcinogen, and didn't tell the U.S. Army before it was too late.
I especially wanted to create this petition for justice for Lt. Col. James Gentry of the Indiana National Guard, who died of cancer in '09 due to exposure of this harmful chemical during his Iraq tour.
