Deny the Keystone XL pipeline

Created by K.C. on January 10, 2012

NASA's James Hansen, has said that if the Keystone XL pipeline is approved, it's "game over for the climate.”

Its form of extraction, Tar sands oil production, emits 3 times more carbon dioxide per barrel than conventional oil consumed in the United States.

Congressman Van Hollen's raised concerns involving increased greenhouse gas emissions, pipeline safety and public health impacts from the pipeline.

New York Times: “Republicans’ claim that the pipeline will create tens of thousands of new jobs — are wildly inflated.”

Obama faces a Feb. 21 deadline to decide whether the $7 billion pipeline is in the national interest.

Can you call the White House to tell them you expect the President to veto any bill that forces construction of Keystone XL?
