This pipeline would create less than a handful of permanent jobs and create severe risks to the environment. Instead of fast-tracking this dangerous project, the US should have the integrity to focus our attention on proven solutions for reducing our oil demand, preserving our environment and creating more sustainable US-based jobs. Changing the way we produce and use energy is fundamental to our national interest. The United States can take real action on climate change and clean energy by denying the Keystone XL permit and refusing to be tethered to the toxic energy sources of the past.
