President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly praised Vladimir Putin despite the latter being a tyrannical autocrat. He has even offered to join the Russian incursion in Syria despite many war crimes committed by the Russian Armed Forces. Infamously, he has also called upon Russia to interfere in our politics, to which the Kremlin has just acknowledged. This is a clear and blatant violation of the Monroe Doctrine of 1823. The Doctrine makes it clear that all efforts by European nations to take control of any sovereign nation in North or South America would be viewed as the manifestation of an unfriendly disposition toward the United States. This includes our own country as well. Mr. Trump must be barred from office on these grounds and charged with treason. He must be brought to justice.
