Deny the Release of Convicted Spy Jonathan Pollard.

Convicted spy Jonathan Pollard should not be released to facilitate peace in the Mideast between the State of Israel and the Palestinian people. The United States is only a facilitator in the Mideast peace process, not a party, and as such has no need and no obligation to make concessions to either Israel or the Palestinian authorities. Jonathan Pollard was convicted in American courts of espionage, a charge that could have resulted in a death sentence but did not. The fact that Pollard was spying for an ally is irrelevant; spying is spying, and there is some evidence that some of the information he stole from the U.S. eventually ended up in the hands of the former Soviet Union. Jonathan Pollard also was paid for his spying activities, so there is no possible ideological mitigation.
