From the activities occurring at the protests at the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North Dakota, it is obvious that the militarized police forces and corporate security forces are more than willing to abuse the use of force against peaceful protesters in the name of corporate interests. Where protecting cultural patrimony, treaty rights, minority rights, and human rights should be the goals of the civil authorities, they are not. In such a case, the commander-in-chief of the military MUST deploy forces which can protect US citizens and their rights. Please do this to force the corporate interests and the armed civil authorities to stop their abuses so that the Judicial Branch can make rulings, and not have to deal with frivolous court cases brought against peaceful protesters.
