Justin Beiber is a foreigner who is working and living in the United States on an O-1 performer’s visa.
Beiber was arrested and charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license.
While Mr. Beiber is a popular pop singer, his actions, coupled with previous entanglements with the law, should require the U.S. Immigration Service to cancel his O-1 performer’s visa, thus facilitating his return to Canada.
Mr. Beiber, age 19, is too young to legally drink.
A provision of U.S. Immigration law states, "Any alien who is, or at any time after admission has been, a drug abuser or addict is deportable."
Immigration law also allows U.S. officials to deport visitors for "moral turpitude”.
Mr. Bieber’s admission is grounds for revocation of his visa.
