Rafael Edward Cruz, also known as Senator Ted Cruz, was born in Canada to parents who were Canadian citizens at the time of his birth. Senator Cruz has stated publicly that he was never naturalized as an American citizen, claiming falsely that he was a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada at his birth. However, according to the Canadian Citizenship Act of 1946, Canada did not allow dual citizenship in 1970. His parents would have had to choose at that time between U.S. and Canadian citizenship. Since Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2014, his parents must have elected Canadian citizenship for him at birth. Since he was never naturalized, Ted Cruz has been an illegal alien since 1974, and should be deported immediately.
