deposit confiscated Bitcoin offline in Ft. Knox in supplement of national gold, aiding flexibility post-dollar collapse

Created by M.C. on October 28, 2013

As Silkroad's owner degraded public markets, he gathered assets in the bitcoin currency (BTC), which the FBI confiscated: ~162,250BTC, or $32.6 million.

We petition the administration to deposit the BTC at Ft. Knox on behalf of the public the FBI served to protect.

This supports the U.S. Treasury's regulation of BTC exchanges by illustrating that the government will maintain the playing field--rather than being a competitor on it--and in the process Treasury is ensuring the convertibility of national bitcoin reserves into other currencies.

Adding bitcoin to the national reserves, while today remains largely symbolic, reminds international creditors of U.S. reserve flexibility.
