If the definition of religion is: a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects, then atheism should be designated a religion.
Designate atheism a religion, so it and its doctrines, have to follow the same government guidelines as other religions. If you can't teach other religious views in schools and government facilities then why should the views and doctrines of atheism not be subject to those same rules? If evolution, a theory and doctrine of the atheist last I checked, is allowed to be taught then other religious views should be as well, or none at all. Atheism is a religion, designate it as such.
