Designate August 2012 as “National Fuel Efficiency Month.” August is the month in which many Americans hit the road for annual vacations. Designating August as National Fuel Efficiency Month will focus national attention on the need for everyone to take simple measures to improve fuel efficiency, such as keeping tires properly pressured, making sure the vehicle is accurately tuned, reducing vehicle idling as much as possible and using cruise control. These measures will help the United States on the road toward energy independence while reducing emissions from fossil fuels.
