Designate Dec 14th as Gun Victims Remembrance Day. We should never forget victims of Newton, Aurora, Chicago etc.

Created by K.G. on February 28, 2013

The Newton massacre on Dec 14th 2012 was a shocking reminder to our nation as to how out of control domestic gun violence has become. New laws are being framed, old ones being modified, as we write this petition. This petition is not about the law. It is about serving as a reminder that the victims of gun violence shall not be forgotten from our collective mindset. We honor our soldiers that served us in war and guarantee us our freedom. However tragically, we have snatched the freedom of life for many innocent citizens - children of Newton, a school girl in Chicago, theater goers in Aurora, shoppers in Portland. The list continues. As a nation, we must not forget. We petition the White House to designate Dec14th as an annual National Gun Victims Remembrance Day.
