Designate December 24, 2013, Christmas Eve, a paid federal holiday for all government employees.

Created by A.C. on December 16, 2013

Government employees have been the victims of a furlough and a shutdown Veterans agonized over whether they would receive their pension. Medical care for Veterans was withheld. Active duty members were deployed unnecessarily to fill the gap of furloughed employees. Families across the globe suffered enormous financial and emotional hardship while our congressional leaders played political theater, mocked our legislative process and used us as pawns in a political coup. We were once again victimized when our political leaders failed to act in the best interests of WE THE PEOPLE by shutting down the government, the effects of which are still reverbrating throughout the federal workforce. Give us this day off, Mr. President. It's the least we deserve after having suffered so much.
