designate Election Day as a federal holiday during mid-term and presidential elections.

Created by E.K. on October 29, 2014

We, the people, petition the White House administration to utilize an executive order to designate Election Day a federal national holiday,

whereas all federal and state non-essential, all private and public non-essential employees are given one day of leave from work to cast their vote,

whereas the administration can eliminate possible obstructions to the people being able to cast their ballot,

whereas voter turnout is expected to be increased,

whereas a fairer and more just elections system can be instituted,

whereas civil rights and humanist liberties can be protected.
