A National Day of Elections would not only make it more convenient for people to go to the polls but it would also make it easier for election officers, in every precinct, to collect ballots and tally votes at the state,municipal and federal elections. It would also make it easier to help people get to the polls by making transportation arrangements easier to obtain and schedule. Voter apathy and low turn outs at the polls, have been the result of election practices that were made for the convenience of voters of the 1700's. It is time to make it easier on the voters of the 21st century. A federal holiday may not fix everything but it will be a step in the right direction concerning "Election Reform."
