Designate The Great Lakes a National Park and Protected Bioregion to establish a Public Trust legacy for all time.

The Great Lakes are a public resource, belonging to every living being that lives on or around them. Therefore, governments have an obligation to manage and protect the Water and the public needs to demand the high standards and priorities necessary to ensure NO HARM comes to the Lakes or the Life they sustain. "Freedom gives no license to violate a heritage that belongs to the ages." (Sigurd F. Olson, 1976). We have an inherent stewardship of our Great Lakes.Yet, in the last 50 years, the Great Lakes have been devasted by pollution, invasive species and blatant disregard by private industry. Now the Great Lakes are threatened by over-extraction and private water grabs for profit. We need to give the them the protected status they deserve as a sacred site on our North American continent.
