Designate the internet as a utility like phone service, or electricity.

Created by J.S. on May 12, 2014

The internet has become indispensable to commerce in the United States and the world. Internet service providers, like Comcast, operate near monopolies causing undue harm and disadvantage to people and business who can not afford access. This situation is very similar to what was experienced in the 1970's before the Government forced the break up of Bell Telephone. It is time for the Government to regulate how much customers can be charged for access to the internet. Just like electricity and water are essential to every day life, so is the internet. Students can not do their course work without the internet. Business's can not transfer funds or use credit/debit card services without the internet. People can not apply for health insurance without the internet.
