On July 20, 1969 people witnessed via telecommunications technology one of the most important moments in the history of human civilization, the landing of human beings on the Moon. Yet there are people who don't believe it really happened! Buzz Aldrin punched a Moon-landing detractor in the face some years ago. And when Neil Armstrong died, the day of the accomplishment of his life did not receive his nation's much-deserved historical designation. July 20th should be a National, indeed, an International day of Commemoration, celebrated with fireworks and amateur rocket launches to help children remember the Atlas booster that sent Apollo 11 to the Moon. If this days is overlooked it will fade out of our history and into shadowy myth.
