Special Education is a vastly misunderstood field. Many other issues have designated "awareness" months; creating this one would provide a forum to disseminate good information about what Special Education is, how it operates, legal rights in obtaining Special Education instruction, etc. The Americans with Disability Act was enacted in July 1990; let's set that month as the one to explore and educate people about Special Education.
