We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Designate May 31st as an annual holiday known as National Storm Chasers Day.

Created by N.W. on May 26, 2016

On May 31st, 2013, three giants of the storm chasing community were lost to one of the biggest tornadoes in history. In honor of Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras and Carl Young, and the sacrifices of all professional storm chasers, we recognize their efforts to further the science of weather prediction while risking their lives to keep others safe now, and in the future.

Few storm chasers make a living off this practice, despite the risks. But the data they collect has accelerated our understanding and knowledge of some of the most dangerous storms the world has ever seen. They deserve their own day, they deserve a celebration. And, most of all, they deserve our thanks.
