Active in Syria since 2012, Al-Murad Sultan Brigades are allied with US foreign terrorist designated organization Al-Nusrah Front. Currently, United States special forces are providing tactical support for Syrian Democratic Forces as they establish security in Manbij city following liberation from ISIL. Al-Murad Sultan Brigades have attacked Syrian Democratic Forces north of Manbij. Due to these attacks around Manbij, security for United States special forces and Syrian Democractic Forces has been degraded. Listing Al-Murad Sultan Brigades as a foriegn terrorist organization will heighten public awareness of the danger this organization poses to United States and signal other governments that we are concerned about this growing threat.
