Destroy the penny, Help the economy!

The penny costs more to make than the actual value it represents, many modern nations including our northern neighbors Canada have removed their 1 cent pieces and simply round to the nearest 5. This will save a large chunk of change and it's been done before in our system, (search the half-cent) along with removing the marketing Tactic of things like 19.99. This simple and easy change will save millions and there is plenty of support in results that this only has positive effects on the economy. It's a simple and easy cause, and to make sure it isn't wasted just offer a tax credit for people turning in their pennies, which the government can smelt and sell also for greater value than they are actually worth. (Simple and worth the effort.)
