Ever since the dawn of time, humankind has been plagued by the retrograde motion of the planet Mercury. We implore the Obama administration to authorize the deployment of a NASA mission to destroy the planet Mercury, ridding us of this curse once and for all. The best method for destroying the planet should be determined by experts at NASA, however it would be freaking rad to just use rocket boosters to plummet the planet into the surface of the Sun. In addition, this mission would simultaneously create jobs and bolster the United States' status as a world leader in space and explosions.
