Destroy the planet Venus.

As our knowledge of the universe has increased we have become more aware of the potential existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. If one of those civilizations were advanced enough to come to our solar system they could use Venus as a beachhead from which to attack the Earth. Although Mars is also a potential staging ground, it is more hospitable and would more easily be developed into a secondary defensive position against alien invasion. The United States of America being the world's single greatest superpower and nation with greatest ability and expertise in all space related technologies is duty-bound to eliminate Venus before it can be used to enslave the human race. We the undersigned request that the Obama administration grant our request for the destruction of Venus.
