The destructive effects of Department of Defense furloughs

Created by T.D. on March 14, 2013

Stop the Department of Defense from implementing the furloughs of 800,000 civilian employees. Department of Defense civilian employees have already contributed more than their fare share as they have not had any pay raise for 27 consecutive months. If Department of Defense employees lose another 22 days of pay as a result of the furloughs, that sequestration policy will have detrimental economic effects in the whole country. As federal employees are also consumers, less pay will translate into less consumer confidence. Do we really need more setbacks during times when America is finally recovering from one of the greatest recession since the Great Depression?
