Legal interpretation of due process rights has evolved over time, recognizing restrictions on and prescriptions for the relationship between government and citizen (see Miranda rights; SDP privacy). This relationship is diffuse--the citizen interacts with police, tax, and permitting authorities chaotically, while these authorities gather sensitive personal information. A modern conception of due process would require active protection of this information (see OPM hack). We should go further, and enhance this relationship through a simple, streamlined account that provides access to all services, including elections, taxes, law enforcement, and medical benefits. This information is already in the government's hands, and our Constitution demands those hands to be able.
