Roughly 30% of our nation does not subscribe to any religious organization and does not support their ideals, goals, or actions. This number is expected to increase over the coming years, and yet nearly $80 billion per year of American's taxes goes to support religious organizations because of their tax exemption status.
If the government is too cowardly to remove the tax exemption, then at least offer an opt-in assignment to let the citizens choose if their money should be contributed to religious organizations or not.
